This is a letter to our friends –

Sen. Cruz’ filibuster has begun

If you are interested in the impact your calls and e-mails are having in “rocking the boat” in Washington, D.C. then tune in for a while and listen to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) as he holds the floor, “Until I can not stand anymore!” Link live through www.DontFundObamacare.com

Many are confused by the mechanics and the conflicting claims, statements, and opinions. The enemies of limited government want it that way. I doubt anyone can sort it all out easily for us. Here is my take (below).

Bottom line – I suggest following Sen. Mike Lee, Sen. Ted Cruz as they buck “moderate” Republican leaders who are frantically waving white flags of “surrender before the fight”.

We the people” have made it clear, we do not want the current Obamacare bill. Your pressure on the House Republicans was so strong that they took their “moderate” leader, John Boehner, into the back room last week and forced him to do what the people want. The House passed a continuing resolution (CR) that funds everything the Democrats want EXCEPT Obamacare. Now Cruz and Lee are leading the fight to get what the people want through the Senate which has not been very good about doing that for a long time!

The Senate can do three things with the House CR bill –

· Pass it as is. Then it goes to the President and he has to decide to sign it, or shut down government rather than lose funding for Obamacare.

· Take it to the floor for open debate and amendments. Then the CR bill with changes goes back to the House for approval.

· Move “cloture” – which allows only one change (put Obamacare funding into the CR) and send it back to the House.

Senators Lee and Cruz want either of the first two. Senator Reid and his followers, including “moderate “ Republican Senators want the third, cloture.

NOTE – I understand a cloture vote requires every Democrat Senator and 6 Republican Senators.

Senator Reed and Cruz are using the filibuster rule (see the movie, Mr. Smith goes to Washington) to delay the vote on cloture while we – you and I – send e-mail and phone calls of support flooding the Republican Senators’ inboxes and phone lines.

Please see the “whip list” at the bottom of the DontFundObamacare.com web site.

Please devote whatever time you can to calling the Republican Senators on that list. These are calls that truly will make a difference! Just say to the Senator’s clerk, “Oppose cloture.” They are getting thousands of calls. They will understand!

The fate of Obamacare from now until cloture vote on Thursday or Friday rests in our dialing fingers!

The ultimate betrayal

The following is a cut & paste. It will help some to understand and give them a number to call and add pressure to Senators to do the right thing. There are many such blog posts “out there” like this one. We need to make it very clear that America wants Obamacare DEFUNDED!

Fellow Conservatives:

This is an urgent update on the fight to stop funding Obamacare.

Senators Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and John Cornyn (R-TX) — the top two Republican leaders in the U.S. Senate — announced yesterday that they will support "cloture" on the government funding bill, giving Harry Reid and the Democrats a procedural green light to fund Obamacare with only 50 votes.

Breitbart News is reporting that McConnell and Cornyn are using their leadership positions to pressure other Republicans to oppose Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) in their effort to defund Obamacare.

According to a senior staffer quoted in the news report, "Nobody is fighting harder to make sure Obamacare is funded than Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn."

This is the ultimate betrayal.

We knew Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn weren’t with us when they voted to fund Obamacare earlier this year. But then, under pressure from grassroots, they said they supported the effort to defund it. They even ran political ads in their home states to make voters think they were on their side.

But now, faced with the prospect of having to fight for the things they claim to believe, these Senate leaders have surrendered.

Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn have surrendered to Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and the Democrats. More importantly, they have surrendered to Obamacare — the biggest job killer in America.

MELT THE PHONES

We can’t let these turncoats force millions of Americans into this liberal train wreck.

Obamacare is unaffordable, unworkable, and it’s unfair.

Please contact the other Republican senators — even if they aren’t from your state — and urge them to OPPOSE cloture so the Democrats can’t fund Obamacare.

You can find the list of senators at DontFundObamacare.com along with their contact information and where they currently stand on this issue.

It’s very important for you to call senators today and urge them to stand with Ted Cruz and Mike Lee in the fight to stop funding Obamacare.

Time is running out. Obamacare begins in just one week. We must act now.

This country belongs to us, not the politicians in Washington. Let’s make sure they hear us loud and clear.

Best regards,

How many sins does it take to make a sinner?

Remember President Bush Senior, “Read my lips – No new taxes.” That gave the Democrats their target. They devoted all their energy into maneuvering Bush into a corner. “The only thing you can do to save the nation is just this little ‘revenue increase’ (i.e.tax).”

Once President Bush yielded, they shifted gears and beat him over the head with his broken promise.

Obama is doing the same thing. The focus of his position, if granted, would be a tax increase that would run the country for only 8 days at today’s spending level!

BUT

The Republicans would have broken their “no tax increase” promise.

Without the cooperation of a Democrat Senate, the Republican House cannot pass a law.

BUT

The House of Representatives is the ONLY place that spending bills may originate. Talk about a fiscal cliff!!! Republican congressmen hold the U.S. government purse strings.

OK – YANK THEM!!!

Balance the budget – like RIGHT NOW – TODAY. There goes the Department of Education funding. There goes the funding for the Environmental Protection Agency (drill baby drill). There go billions in graft and corruption that no longer have a place to hide.

Economic shock wave around the country? You bet! If we are in for trouble, let it be because we did what was right. The results will take care of themselves!
