This is a letter to our friends –

Urban legends

From time to time my passion overcomes my wisdom. Yesterday I circulated an urgent prayer request for Christians in the middle-east. Today, I have the following note from Mrs. Devereux that part of my post was urban legend. Forgive me please, for circulating false information.

On the other hand, Christians in the ISIS territory are suffering much evil and need our prayers.

Here is Mrs. Devereux’s message to me:

Mr. Gilmore,
I respectfully feel that I should tell you that the content of this email has been circulating around the internet for a year or more. While part of the content may be true (i.e. Queragosh is in the hands of ISIS militants) the email is a mixture of truth and fiction. Much of it has been exaggerated since the original request for prayer.

www.snopes.com is a reliable source for verifying the truth of these types of emails.

Sincerely,
Gwen Devereux
