This is a letter to our friends –
Choice, Consequence, Obligation
Think about it – Your next choice does not exist until you create it. That next choice will become part of human history – for eternity! When you choose an action, you have chosen a consequence. Since you created the choice that produced the consequence, you are obliged to accept responsibility for the consequence.
Children are the consequence of their parents’ choices. Parents are obliged to accept responsibility for the care of the children until they can care for themselves. Care for the children can be transferred or shared – but – the obligation cannot be transferred!
Noah Webster, Father of American education put it this way in his 1828 Dictionary.
“EDUC̵A´TION, n. [L. educatio.] The bringing up, as of a child; instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.”

Why is a “religious education” indispensable? I respond, “ – because God exists.” It is God who created us with the ability to choose. Since we are dependent upon Him for our next breath we are obliged to choose the best for Him and one another. (I did not make that up. It is in His book – the Bible, and it makes perfect sense. Revealed Law & Natural Law), Our main purpose in life is to learn to love God and one another, The goal of a “religious education”.
This fall a vast number of parents will be transferring the education of their children to public schools and universities. Those institutions have been made irreverent by fiat! Public education philosophy is shifting rapidly to open opposition to Godly worldviews.
Dear parents – I beg you – Get your kids out of the public education system NOW! Our precious nation does not deserve what public educated students are going to do to her as adults!
But – You say, “I am not qualified to teach my children and I cannot afford private school.” I can guarantee that it will not be “easy”! Tonight, when the house is quiet. Tiptoe through the house and peek into each room. If there are any kids in there, you are qualified!
There is a world of support out there, if you will diligently seek it. Talk to friends, search the net. I suggest http.www,FACE.net as a good place to start. One day you will answer to the Lord for the education choices you made for your children. Find a way. You cannot transfer the obligation.
