Odds & Ends
You, my blog readers, are like family to me. I have wanted to post to you for ages, but life happens!!!!! I turn 93 in August. Fran is 90 in October.
Term limits – Those of you in business will know that the best salesman is not necessarily the best sales-manager. Each job needs different skills.
Think about it – Which would YOU be better at, – President, Lawmaker, Judge?
Some believe that politics should not be a long-time career. I disagree. When I find a gifted law-maker, or president, who is honest and appears to be more qualified than his challengers, I do not want to be told I cannot vote for him because of term limits.
The reason for term limits was to prevent people from voting dumb. Another reason was to break up one-party control. Term limits is only a band-aid. It does not stop dumb voting.
The solution is informed voting. That is a hard problem, but not an overwhelming one. I understand – You are not interested and just want to be left alone. How’s that working out for you?
Each one of us is different. Hou inform yourself is up to you. You can follow political news and become familiar with how those representatives for whom you are responsible, are voting. Your church may host a local candidates debate. You might ask an activist friend whose judgement you trust. I encourage browsing
